Professional Profile

Ms. Martin is an Analyst at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and a Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her primary research interests include the clinical management of high-consequence pathogen infections, biocontainment, and the analysis of global response strategies to infectious disease emergencies. Her previous work has included developing and evaluating interventions to reduce nosocomial transmission of multidrug resistant organisms in New York City hospitals as well as characterizing the burden and transmission risks related to coronaviruses isolated from wet markets in China.

Ms. Martin earned an MPH in infectious diseases from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2019. As a student, she worked with the Johns Hopkins Hospital Biocontainment Unit to develop a training curriculum for frontline healthcare workers to identify and isolate patients with high-consequence pathogen infections.

Prior to her obtaining her master’s degree, Ms. Martin earned a BS in biology and international relations from Lehigh University in 2016. While at Lehigh, she conducted laboratory research on avian blood parasite infections and served as a Youth Representative to the United Nations.
