Our Work

The Center for Health Security undertakes a series of projects, collaborations, and initiatives to push forward progress on global health security, emerging infectious diseases and epidemics, medical and public health preparedness and response, deliberate biological threats, and opportunities and risks in the life sciences. We:

  • Conduct research and analysis on major domestic and international health security issues.
  • Engage with researchers, the policymaking community, and the private sector to make progress in the field.
  • Convene expert working groups, congressional seminars, scientific meetings, conferences, and tabletop exercises to stimulate new thinking and provoke action.
  • Educate a rising generation of scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.

Projects

Based on demand from government leaders, health agencies, and health security experts we implement projects that provide independent research to identify potential threats and develop evidence-based policy advice on potential ways to avoid or solve global health security risks.

Our analysis and research are often published as peer-reviewed journal articles, in-depth reports, policy analysis, issue briefs, meeting reports, testimony and briefings, or perspective pieces. This work advances scholarship on the wide range of topics and issues that comprise health security.
